Abe is one of the senior players in the A.H.S. Rugby League Academy.

During the 2011 National Senior Secondary School Rugby League Tournament he was one of the front row forwards.

During the final of the 'Bowl' Abe kicked a penalty to give us the lead and within the last 30 seconds of the game he successfully kicked a drop goal to bring the final score to...

Today finished the first week of training held at the school.

Te gave us our Lucky Bonus Numbers to sell for fundraising and a letter for a sponsorship page in the Mainland Express. All we need to do is find a sponsor.

We need to raise $1776.37 each this year.

Training

We have done a lot of circuit training for fitness. We started off easy on Monday and gradually got harder and today we did a sprint circuit.

We have learnt our basic cuts and focused more on defence. Started off with wrapping the ball up and putting the opposition to the ground. Hold down was something we did to ensure a more dominant tackle.

We finished off today with the 2 step shuffle before the tackle.

It has been a good turn out to trainings this week and we hope everyone stays committed.

Our first game is against the West Coast Secondary Schools on ANZAC Day (25th April) over in Greymouth, West Coast.
